Sidewalk Inventory

- Five teams of two people each will continue conducting an inventory of all City sidewalks, ramps and curbs. This will include video technology that that uses a wheelchair mounted tablet to collect data.
- Tuesday: Marion Excavating will be repairing the new water line connection. One way traffic will be maintained but motorists should expect delays.
- Mass-West Construction will be mobilizing to start construction on Phase 2 of Pulaski Park, the Overlook at the rear of the park that will connect it to the Roundhouse Parking lot. The project is anticipated to be completed in the late spring of 2017.
- The construction area will be fenced, and parking spaces in the lot will be reduced for the duration of the project.
- There will be no pedestrian access from the parking lot up the stairs near South Street. Pedestrian access from the parking lot to Main Street will be via Crafts Avenue or the stairs behind City Hall for the duration of the project.
- Construction vehicles will be accessing the site through the parking lot. Motorists and pedestrians are advised to be aware of construction activity and use caution when parking and walking in the lot.
- Gomes Construction of Ludlow is the general contractor for the roundabout construction under a contract with MassDOT.
- Gomes will be continuing with roundabout construction.
- Through traffic will be maintained at all times, except as noted above. Lane closures for one-way traffic are restricted to between 9 am and 4 pm. Please seek alternate routes or EXPECT DELAYS at this location.
- Scapes Construction is the general contractor for Smith College working on relocating utilities at Elm Street for the construction of new entry gates and drainage and roadway improvements on College Lane.
